Limited Edition Audio Introduces VoxSplit Pro for Dialogue Separation and Cleanup

Limited Edition Audio has launched VoxSplit Pro, a new macOS audio tool designed to separate two overlapping voices from a single recording while also helping reduce unwanted background and non-dialogue sounds.

Created by film sound designer Frédéric Le Louët, VoxSplit Pro targets a common challenge in dialogue post-production: situations where two people speak at the same time but only one performance needs to be edited, processed, or replaced. By separating the performances into individual tracks, editors can work on each voice independently.

The software is particularly aimed at film, television, documentary, and other production workflows where recording another take or using ADR may not always be straightforward. For example, an editor can retain one actor’s overlapping performance while preparing another actor’s dialogue for replacement.

VoxSplit Pro includes three processing modes — Standard, Precision, and Rescue — giving users different approaches to handling difficult source recordings. Limited Edition Audio notes that results can vary depending on the material, with challenging recordings potentially producing artifacts.

The software runs its audio processing locally on the Mac, meaning recordings do not need to be uploaded to an online service. It supports both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs and is available as an AAX AudioSuite plug-in for Pro Tools, a VST3 plug-in, and a standalone application. The VST3 and standalone versions use file import and export rather than real-time insert processing.

VoxSplit Pro is offered as a perpetual licence with PACE iLok USB or iLok Cloud activation. The introductory price is €199 including VAT, compared with a regular price of €249, and a seven-day trial is available for users who want to test the software before purchasing.
