Gazillion Industries Launches Two New Plugins: F(ilter) 12 and Beefy
Gazillion Industries has expanded its plugin lineup with two new releases: F(ilter) 12, a lo-fi filter, and Beefy, a saturation and loudness processor.
F(ilter) 12
F(ilter) 12 combines a classic filter design with a lo-fi processing stage placed ahead of it, plus an adaptive correction layer on top.
The lo-fi stage runs two controls together: a sample-rate reducer that folds high frequencies back into the mix as new harmonic content, and a bit-depth reducer that can crush resolution down to as low as 12 bits.
For the filter itself, users get five selectable modes — low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, notch, and a morphing mode that sweeps continuously from a closing low-pass, through a neutral point, to an opening high-pass. Eight distinct resonance characters are available, each maintaining a fixed offset from the filter's cutoff point as it moves. Built-in auto-filter modulation and sidechain input support add extra dynamic movement.
Rounding out the design is AURA, an adaptive correction feature, with an intensified MAX AURA mode for more pronounced results.
Beefy
Beefy is built to add weight and presence to audio, making it sound fuller and more forward in the mix. It's controlled by three main parameters:
- BEEF — increases density, weight, and perceived loudness
- COOK — shifts tonal character from smooth and round to brighter and more aggressive
- JUICE — controls input gain
Two additional processing modes handle peak control: SOFT CLIP (enabled by default) gently rounds off the loudest transients while introducing extra low-end harmonics, while LIMIT caps output peaks more strictly. Either can be disabled, and both input and output metering are provided via clip indicators.
Visually, Beefy features a hand-illustrated interface available in two color schemes, complete with an animated cow graphic that responds to the incoming audio signal.
Pricing and System Requirements
F(ilter) 12 is available for $49 USD, and Beefy is priced at $19 USD. Both plugins support macOS 10.13 and later (available as AU, VST3, and standalone versions for Intel and Apple Silicon Macs) as well as Windows 10 and later (64-bit VST3 format).
